busy times....

after taking two courses within the first 6 weeks of summer and working the remaining hours in the Campus Dining Services and the dorms on campus for the past 10 weeks, i thought i would take a 'vacation' for a week. Vacation meant doing nothing, sitting at home, not moving my bum for anything....exactly as my friend Andrew says..."sitting at home and doing nothing is my favorite past-time!!"..but destiny had decided differently...i gave an interview for a new Graduate Assistant position in the College of Education. ( http://coe.ilstu.edu/ilnbpts ) and it turned out that they liked me ( applause applause...), and which i knew they would...you might call it (over?)confidence....but whatever....i had to start work immediately....and my plans for my very own private personal vacation vanished faster than 'we all' used to vanish off, when, while playing cricket, someone's 'shot' used to break a glass window or a light bulb of some house in the colony....reminds me of my friend Iquebal who often sang...Dil dhoondta hai...phir wahi...fursat ke raat din...
*******
Lot of new Indians students are coming in and I am picking them up and arranging for their accomodations...yesterday I had 7 ppl in my house...me, my roomie...and 5 new guys....my roomie is cooking good food for them...and I guess I'm not being that bad a host either...the whole point is that, when I came, I lived off 'Haldirams' packets for 1 week...it was BAD, to put it most positively....and I just want to be of good help to these new guys so they dont feel the way I felt during my first week here....history should not repeat itself atleast when I'm leading the war...

I helped a friend with something which was very important considering the current situation..and I hope it works out....I wish life was not so 'one way or the other' sometimes....why should all the hardwork done be of no use if you miss the result by a wafer-thin margin...why years and years of endurance and perseverance end up in that miserable feeling of 'everything is lost'...after thinking a good bit bout it, all I have come to conclud and believe is that all that hard work atleast makes a good Man out of you....

Just recalled today morning, one of the best attitude quotes I've ever heard..."Dont walk as if you own the world, walk as if you don't care who does..." Know anyone with such confidence??

PS:- Creep, ofcourse I got along with you man...sorry for missing the name...there are some people with whom I operate at a different frequency.....you are one of them...
