DARK SIDE OF THE MOON

Life is changing fast...lots of things happening...some which I like and some I really dont wan't to see... but that happens to everybody all the time....so I won't rant on that...but what doesn't happen to everybody, probably even once in there life, is the chance to see Roger Waters live in concert !!

I went with four friends to see him live...and what an experience...I am mentally still there....the whole idea of seeing a Pink Floyd member live in concert itself was overwhelming. Pink Floyd is legendary...arguably the biggest band in the world ever after The Beatles and Led Zeppelin (interestingly, all of them are British). And I got what I expected.. 15,000 people willing to stand outside on wet grass in freezing cold for 3 hours as it was an open theater...stunning visuals (the electricity used could power a couple of villages for a month back home) , lots of alcohol and pot... and amazing music. Another interesting thing was that beacuse Floyd is so old, there were lot of middle aged men and women..some as old as my parents..and they were all tripping on the songs...singing in sync..word by word...re-living there lost in the smoke past...all were a part of the hippie, Floyd, Zep and Doors era.. it reminded me of the last line in the movie 'The Last of the Mohicans': People will come and people will go, but once, we ruled here!!

Probably, event Water's must have been thinking the same..

Curent Song: "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd

When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I can't explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

WHAT IS SUCCESS??

In the hustle bustle of todays world, where materialistic pleasures and money dominate the game, and too much is not enough, we tend to forget what really being successful is...My friend gave me a small newspaper cutting about 10 years ago when I started my engineering. And time and again, I like to go back to it to calm myself down and get my priorities right. The note read...

"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."

Teri Nigaahen pa gayi rahe
Par Tu Yeh Soche Jaaun Na Jaaun

Yeh Zindagi Jo Hai Naachti Toh

FREE FALL AT 60 MPH FROM 23 STOREYS HIGH

Prince of Normal, Green Eyed Goblin, myself and two other friends made a trip to Six Flags in St. Louis..needless to say, a super thrilling experience. The best ride was "Superman, Tower of Power"... sitting with your feet hanging in the air on a chair strung to the top of a pole 23 storeys high is quite an experience...and falling down from that height all the more... If you are contemplating suicide by jumping off the top of a tall building and want to know how it will feel like before you make your final jump, look no further than Superman :)
